Only her thoughts remain.
The dim light of the surgery room had faded, leaving only the faint glow of the monitors. Her heart still pounded in her chest, a sound that echoed through her blood vessels like a silent snake.
She stood in the waiting room, her hands trembling. The memories of her past were like shadows, flickering and fading with each passing moment. But there was one thing she could never forget: the look of her eyes when she had met him…
The doors to the surgery room burst open, and a cold hand pushed herself out. She stumbled towards the mirror, her face turning pale.
She looked at her reflection in the mirror. The world seemed to close in around her, like a tight squeeze that left her breathless and defenseless.
But there was something different about him… His eyes were like…… something else entirely. Her heart suddenly racing, she swallowed hard, trying to ignore the queasy feeling in her stomach.
The doors of the operating room slammed shut behind her. She couldn’t look back now, only feel a deep sense of loss as she turned and walked away from that last moment…
Her mind replayed the images over and over again, each time causing her heart to pound even louder. She needed to get away… But where?
She grabbed her bag and dashed out of the hospital, the streets blurred before her eyes. The city was empty now, save for the occasional car passing by. But something about him still lingered…
Finally, she reached a familiar alleyway, where she pressed herself against the wall, hoping to escape her fate once more.
But then she paused… There was something different about him. Her heart suddenly raced, her vision blurred as tears streamed down her face. She turned and looked back, but there was no one there…
The memory of him had returned. Or maybe it was just her imagination playing tricks on her mind…
She shook her head, determined to move forward despite the lingering doubts. Life was too short for these uncertainties…
